On Sunday, May 10, events dedicated to Mother's Day will take place in Riga.

In particular, at 12:30 in the Ziemelblazma Culture Palace park, there will be a concert for mothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, godmothers, and aunts titled "Melodiju pušķis mammai" featuring actors Erika Egli-Gravle and Gints Gravelis.

At the Small Guild cultural center, from 12:00 to 14:30, there will be creative workshops dedicated to Mother's Day called "Mīļdarbnīcas," where gifts for mothers and grandmothers can be made - sweets, keychains, bookmarks, and more.

At 15:00 in the Small Guild, there will be a concert "Song for Mother," featuring the mixed choir "Skanjupe" and actors from the Dailes Theatre Gints Gravelis, Agate Grinholfa, and Ralph Puzans - they will perform a program of Latvian film music.

Mother's Day can also be celebrated at the Riga Jugendstil Center, where thematic tours are scheduled at 10:30 and 12:00, as well as a specially organized game for Mother's Day "Palīdzi atrast manu mammu!" inviting preschool children at 10:30 and younger school children at 12:00.

At 14:00 and 16:00, a chamber concert "Mātes sirds" is planned at the Riga Jugendstil Center. It will feature accordionist Kaspars Gulbis, concertmaster Juris Zhvikov, and students from the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music Loreta Matisone, Amanda Karnate, Agnese Baltmane, and Paula Pupola. An entrance ticket to the museum is required for participation.

In the Imantha cultural center, in the evening on Mother's Day at 18:00, there will be a concert dedicated to mothers called "Pavasarī," featuring Aija Vitolina with her accompanying group - Romans Vendinsh, Janis Berzins, and Ivars Kalnins.

Throughout the day from 12:00 to 20:00, the "VEF" quarter will host a family folk festival "Taka."

Visitors will have the opportunity to attend concerts by folk groups, dance and singing workshops with Zane Shmite and Ansis Betins, participate in a jam session with Dj KAN and folk musicians, take part in family workshops, competitions, games, and shop at the crafts and home producers' fair.

The program will also include children's folk concerts and an exhibition of medieval weapons and armor.

The festival will feature 12 folk groups from different regions of Latvia, including the family folk studio "Garataka," and the folk groups "Knipati," "Kokle," "Kamolītis," "Krāce," "Ceidari," "Ķocis," "Oglīte," and the folk dance group "Zeidi."
