The Riga Higher School of Northern Countries has expanded its offerings for Latvian students.
The Riga Higher School of Northern Countries has begun enrollment for students, and for Latvian students, the largest selection of courses in recent years has been prepared. There is particular interest among applicants in the new psychology program and the master's program in organizational psychology, as well as in the university's most prestigious program, "Business Administration (Global BBA)."
"The school continues its strategic growth, offering bachelor's and master's programs in both Latvian and English. We pay special attention to attracting Latvian students — our diverse educational programs and international quality are relevant for their careers. It is very important for Latvian students to consider their future, not only to become highly qualified specialists but also to build their own businesses. We have successfully expanded the number of bachelor's and master's programs with new programs in psychology and organizational psychology, and the demand for such specialists is currently very relevant for the Latvian labor market," said Andrey Tsinis, Vice-Rector for Administrative Affairs at the Riga Higher School of Northern Countries.
"At the beginning of the year, feedback from first-year students in the open psychology program confirms that the program is rated positively, and it is important for us to consistently develop this quality in the future. We are currently actively working on attracting partners for international cooperation to provide students with broader opportunities for academic and professional growth beyond Latvia. In our country, there is a particular shortage of psychologists, and this deficit creates excessive pressure on existing specialists, significantly prolonging patient waiting times. International practice has proven that targeted training of young specialists and quality professional education is one of the most effective ways to reduce waiting lists in the long term. The contribution of the Academy of Sciences to the current situation is the training of competent, modern specialists capable of genuinely helping people and organizations. It is important that we hear, support, and encourage each psychology student to grow — both professionally and personally; their entry into the ranks of colleagues is very important for Latvia," said the director of the psychology program at the Riga Higher School of Northern Countries, mg. psych. Zane Jankovska.
Programs such as "Entrepreneurship Management," "Entrepreneurship Management in Tourism," "Music Management," and the master's program in "Computer Systems" continue to be in demand among students.
The most prestigious program at the university is "Business Administration (Global BBA)" — this bachelor's program is specifically designed for future leaders and offers a number of advantages. The program is taught in English, featuring instructors and guest lecturers with global experience. It focuses on the challenges, strategic management, and innovations of real-world business — students gain practical knowledge. Graduates acquire competitive skills that enable them to work in leadership positions in international companies or develop their own startups. Students have extensive networking opportunities in the Nordic countries and other parts of the world. A strong core of foreign instructors has been established for the implementation of the Global BBA program, as well as collaboration with leading Swiss universities and enterprises. Students have the opportunity to begin their studies in English in Latvia and then continue their education and obtain a diploma in Switzerland.
