I found out that on the portal latvija.lv I can see what my pension will approximately be. But the data used for the calculation is only indicated after 1996. I have work experience starting from 1985, and in 5 years I will be eligible for a pension (unless, of course, the law changes).
How can I submit information about my work from 1985 to 1996 so that it is also taken into account in the calculations? The physical employment record book that was used earlier has been lost a long time ago. And do I need to submit this data, and to whom? Reader of the portal bb.lv

Total insurance period is important both for determining the right to a pension and for calculating its amount. If the insurance period before December 31, 1995, was not registered with the State Social Insurance Agency (VSAA), these periods must be documented.
The insurance period before December 31, 1995, can be confirmed with the following documents:
- employment record book or collective farm worker's record book;
- employment contract and documents regarding its execution, containing a note on the completion of the work period;
- military ID;
- documents of education in higher or other educational institutions after obtaining secondary education until December 31, 1990 (certificate, diploma, transcript, reference);
- archival references from archives in Latvia or other countries;
- reference from the employer about the work experience until December 31, 1990 (it must be substantiated with references to supporting documents);
- court decision and other documents.
If the necessary documents have not been preserved, an archival reference can be requested. If the relevant information is also absent in the archives, a person has the right to appeal to the Administrative Court to establish a legal fact.
Copies of documents and an application for the registration of insurance periods before 1996 can be submitted in person at the VSAA customer service center, presenting the original documents.
Original documents or notarized copies can also be sent by mail or submitted through an authorized person.
