On Wednesday, the southern wind in Latvia will significantly strengthen, and the air temperature will warm up to +11..+16 degrees, meteorologists forecast, writes LETA.
Gusts of southern wind will reach 13–18 meters per second, up to 20 meters per second in western Kurzeme.
There will be light rain in places, with more precipitation expected in the evening in Kurzeme. The sun will peek through the clouds.
In Riga, light rain is possible in the first half of the day, and in the second half, gusts of southern wind are expected to reach up to 17 meters per second. The air temperature will reach +14 degrees.
A cyclone is intensifying in Scandinavia. Atmospheric pressure in Latvia ranges from 997 hPa in the northwest of the country to 1006 hPa in the southeast (at sea level). The pressure continues to decrease.
According to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LEGMC), the temperature record for March 25 in the country is +18.4 degrees, recorded in 1973 in Skrīveri.
