In response to a question about what changes are associated with this year's innovations (declarations are submitted for 2025), when the tax policy changed, Šmite-Roke noted that there are no longer complicated methods for calculating the differentiated non-taxable minimum and many other nuances, when March 1 was awaited like a miracle - whether there would be an overpayment or not, writes nra.lv.
"From January 1, 2025, you have received everything you are entitled to in your wallets - a single tax rate of 25.5% applies to everyone. For those whose income exceeds 105,000 euros per year, the rate is higher - 33%. People are worried: how will I not have a tax overpayment now, I got used to it. You received all the money every month, so an overpayment occurs only if you submit justified expenses for treatment or education," explained the CEO of the SRS.
