Due to a shortage of drivers, 17 regional bus routes were canceled on Tuesday

Due to a shortage of drivers, SIA Latvijas sabiedriskais autobuss canceled a total of 17 bus routes on Tuesday, according to information on the website of the Road Transport Administration, writes LETA.

The following routes of the company were canceled: the route Ezere — Kursīši parish — Saldus (scheduled for 7:10), Saldus — Jaunauce center — Auce (7:10), Brocēni center — Saldus (7:15), Druva — Draudzība (7:30), Bus Station — Krasti — Bus Station (7:35), Saldus — Striki (7:50), Draudzība — Druva school (8:00), as well as Striki — Saldus (8:15).

Also canceled were the routes: Riga — Adaži — Kadaga (8:55), Auce — Jaunauce center — Saldus (11:25), Cits Mežaparks — Kadaga — Adaži — Riga (11:45), and Riga — Adaži — Kadaga — Sigulda (13:10).

By 7:00 AM on Tuesday, Latvijas sabiedriskais autobuss had not ensured the operation of five bus routes.

As previously reported, in 2023, Latvijas sabiedriskais autobuss operated with a turnover of 11.994 million euros, which is 0.2% less than the previous year, however, the company's profit tripled to 30,752 euros. Financial data for 2024 has not yet been published.

The company Latvijas sabiedriskais autobuss was registered in 1996, with a share capital of 696,069 euros. The owner of the company is a Malta-registered firm Bus Group, and the actual beneficiary is Vitaly Komar.
