Sea Battle: Latvian Torpedoes Can Sink Russian Vessels

The Latvian company NEWT21 today sent another self-guided FOG torpedo to Ukraine, capable of delivering 200 kg of explosives.

The torpedo was handed over by the head of the company NEWT21, Janis Garisons. The torpedo was accepted by the advisor to the Ukrainian embassy in Latvia, Yuriy Zakharchuk.

The modular hull FOG is made of carbon fiber reinforced with aramid fiber. Its weight is 135 kilograms, and it can carry explosives weighing up to 200 kilograms. The length of the unmanned vessel's hull is 4.4 meters.

The vessel is equipped with a water-jet engine with a power of 90 horsepower, installed in the rear part of the hull. Its power is sufficient to ensure a cruising speed of 50 kilometers per hour and to reach a maximum speed of 78 kilometers per hour.

The fuel tank capacity of the vessel is 30 liters, with a fuel consumption of 11 liters per hour, providing more than 2.5 hours of operation.

This means that the torpedo needs to be delivered to a target at a distance of 100-150 km, and from there it will do everything by itself.

The unmanned vessel Fog is a multifunctional surface platform capable of performing a wide range of tasks—from patrolling to combat and reconnaissance operations.
