Starting from January 1, 2026, the state fee for issuing a passport within 10 working days will be 50 euros, and for issuing within two working days — 75 euros, bb.lv was informed by the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs.

For the issuance of an identity card (eID card) within 10 working days, the state fee will be 30 euros, and within two working days — 45 euros.

For comparison: currently, the fee for issuing a passport within 10 working days is 44 euros, and within two working days — 70 euros. In turn, the state fee for issuing an eID card within 10 working days this year was 25 euros, and within two working days — 40 euros.

All previously existing benefits for state fees for issuing identity documents for children and youth up to 20 years old, pensioners, and persons with disabilities of group I or II will remain in effect.

For these groups of the population, starting from January 1, 2026, the state fee for processing a passport within 10 working days will be 25 euros, and for processing an identity card — 15 euros.

It is important to note that in cases where the documents for processing the identity card are submitted and the state fee is paid before December 31, 2025, but the document is received after January 1, 2026, the fee in effect at the time of document processing will apply.
