To limit the spread of influenza and other acute respiratory infections, stricter anti-epidemic measures are being introduced at Riga 1st Hospital, including restrictions on visiting patients, reported LETA agency representative Vivita Leismane.
Visits inside the short-term social care center of the hospital have been suspended, except in cases where it is necessary to visit a person in extremely serious condition. The transfer of items prepared by relatives to clients is carried out as usual. If a client is not prescribed bed rest or isolation, visits are allowed on the hospital grounds during outdoor walks.
Riga 1st Hospital urges residents to understand the introduced restrictions aimed at ensuring the health and safety of clients, patients, and staff.
The flu epidemic has been declared in the country by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control since December 9.
