The first seven cases of influenza this season have been registered in Latvia, according to data from the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.
The center notes that overall influenza spread remains low, while the proportion of confirmed Covid-19 cases has slightly increased from 8.9% to 11.4%.
Five cases of influenza have been registered in Riga, with one case each in Jelgava and Daugavpils.
Last week, 36 patients with Covid-19 were hospitalized, and a total of 75 people with this infection were in hospitals. Ten cases of death among patients with confirmed Covid-19 have also been recorded.
The spread of acute respiratory infections in Latvia remains low. As part of the monitoring in 44 family doctor practices, the proportion of patients with symptoms of such infections was 18% of the total number.
