Actor Keanu Reeves is in negotiations to participate in a feature film about Lego, which is being developed by director Josh Cooley. This was reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The project is being developed for Universal Studios, with Jill Wilfert and Ryan Christians serving as producers through The Lego Group. Details about the film's plot are currently unknown, but it is reported that the film will be a hybrid of live-action and animation.

According to sources from Deadline close to the project, after several attempts to launch a Lego project with different writers and directors, Universal Studios "decided to try its luck with a major star — Reeves," specifically developing the project around an unspecified character for the actor.

Keanu Reeves has previously collaborated with Josh Cooley, voicing the character of stuntman Duke Caboom in his film Toy Story 4. The film grossed over $1 billion at the global box office and was nominated for an Oscar. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Reeves is also currently set to voice the lead role in the Japanese animated samurai action film Hikari, which is in development by director Masashi Kawamura.
