Regular visits by singer Philipp Kirkorov to plastic surgeons may not be related to internal complexes, but rather to professional necessity and psychological habituation to the results of procedures. Clinical psychologist Yulia Denisova-Melnikova shared this in a conversation with the media.
Previously, internet users began actively discussing the latest changes in the artist's appearance. Many commentators suggested that the performer had altered the shape of his nose. According to the expert, for stars of such magnitude, appearance is a key element of their personal brand.
"I would not automatically associate plastic surgery with trauma or complexes. Today, it is increasingly becoming part of the norm, just as cosmetology or fitness once became the norm. For public figures, appearance is part of their profession, brand, and means of communication. They are constantly under the scrutiny of millions of people, cameras, and social media. Therefore, age-related changes are often experienced more acutely by them than by an ordinary person," Denisova-Melnikova explained.
The psychologist also noted that a successful experience in altering one's appearance often encourages patients to undergo repeat surgeries. This allows them to maintain their familiar media image and combat the fear of aging.
"There is a psychological effect of habituation. When a person sees that a certain procedure yields noticeable results and receives positive feedback from those around them, the desire arises to maintain or enhance that effect. In this sense, aesthetic medicine can become a way to sustain the familiar image of oneself. Psychological surgery is increasingly becoming one of the ways to manage age-related changes today," the expert concluded.
Earlier, plastic surgeon Vyacheslav Vasilyev explained Kirkorov's thinness. He stated that the singer had not done anything new to his face, and the changes could be related to past surgeries.
The expert reminded that, in addition to fillers and Botox, Kirkorov had undergone surgical interventions: liposuction, blepharoplasty, and a facelift of the face and other body parts.
