In honor of Valentina Tereshkova's 90th birthday, which will be celebrated next year, the historical drama "Seagull" about the first woman in the world to fly into space is set to be released. Until now, Tereshkova has only been the subject of documentary films. Moreover, there have been no prominent biopics telling the stories of female cosmonauts in the history of Russian cinema.

"Valentina Vladimirovna and our family actively participated in the work on the script, consulting Anton Megerdichev and the entire team," shared Elena, the daughter of Valentina Tereshkova.

The project has gathered a star-studded cast: Dmitry Chebotarev ("Vampires of the Middle Strip," "Major Grom: Plague Doctor," "Coach"), Sergey Gorodnichy ("Lily of the Valley"), Denis Vlasenko ("Passions for Matvey," "Pavel. The First and the Last"), while the lead role will be played by Leonela Manturova, the daughter of the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov. Previously, she appeared in films such as "Lefty," "Evil City," and "1941. Wings Over Berlin." The premiere of "Seagull" will take place on April 8, 2027.
