American performer and producer Kanye West, also known as Ye, held a large concert in Istanbul on Saturday. As reported by the Israeli publication "The Jerusalem Post", over 100,000 fans of the musician gathered at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium.
According to the Turkish state news agency "Anadolu", the total audience of the two-hour show reached 118,000 people, including numerous foreign tourists who flew in from the United Kingdom, Germany, and France.
This performance attracted heightened attention due to its background. West had previously been banned from performing in several countries, and this summer he faced a wave of concert cancellations across Europe, including in the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, and Poland.
The reason for the strict restrictions was his systematic antisemitic remarks, including statements praising Adolf Hitler, as well as the use of Nazi symbols in media materials. The show in Turkey marked the rapper's first solo appearance in Europe since 2014.
Despite international criticism and a boycott from Western concert venues, Turkish organizers held the event in the format of a large-scale music festival, permitted for audiences of all ages.
