The court proceedings regarding the property division of basketball player Janis Timma and singer Anna Sedokova will continue in Moscow today. The athlete's family demands to establish the volume of assets and disputes real estate transactions made during the marriage.
The Ostankinsky District Court of Moscow will continue to hear the case regarding the division of jointly acquired property of Janis Timma and Anna Sedokova on Saturday.
Previously, the process took place in the Khoroshevsky District Court, but later the case was transferred to another judicial instance. A representative of the Timma family, lawyer Margarita Gavrilova, opposed this decision, stating that it would only prolong the proceedings.
According to Gavrilova, Sedokova's side supported the transfer of the case.
One of the central issues of the process became the apartment that Timma had previously gifted to his wife. At the previous hearing, Sedokova's representative, Tatyana Stukalova, reported that the property had been sold, and the money was used for the family's needs over the course of several months.
The court attempted to clarify the amount of the transaction and the further use of the funds, but the singer's defense did not provide specific answers.
According to Gavrilova, the market value of the apartment at the time of purchase was about 150 million rubles — nearly 1.5 million euros.
The Timma family now intends to seek a review of all property acquired during the marriage. This includes not only real estate but also bank accounts, deposits, shares in capital, and other assets.
The court may pay special attention to the real estate registered in Sedokova's name and later sold without transferring a share to Timma.
The history of this case remains one of the most discussed in the media space following the death of the Latvian basketball player.
Janis Timma and Anna Sedokova began their relationship in 2019 and got married a year later. In the fall of 2024, Sedokova announced their separation.
In December 2024, 32-year-old Timma was found dead in Moscow. Media reports indicated that the basketball player took his own life. After the athlete's death, disputes over his property and financial matters moved into the judicial realm.
For many in Latvia, Timma remains one of the most famous basketball players of his generation — he played 68 matches for the national team.
The next court session is expected to continue clarifying the fate of the assets acquired during the marriage and determine which claims the parties can substantiate with documentation.
