Rumors about the "death" of the star of the film "Back to the Future" — Michael J. Fox — quickly spread across the internet. The reason was a memorial video published by CNN, which many viewers perceived as a real announcement of the actor's passing.
However, the concern turned out to be unfounded: Fox himself quickly refuted the rumors on his social media and made it clear that he is doing fine.
The actor reacted to the situation with characteristic irony. He jokingly described what to do if one suddenly hears about their own "death" in the news: change the channel, check oneself for sensitivity (for example, by pouring hot water on one's knee), call his wife, or simply relax — because, according to him, this is not the first time something like this has happened. He concluded the post with a self-deprecating phrase along the lines of: "I thought it was the end of the world, but it turned out — it’s just me, and I’m fine."
The publication quickly spread across the internet and gathered tens of thousands of likes. In the comments, fans picked up on the actor's tone: some advised to "check their existence" with passersby, while others recalled the famous quote by Mark Twain that rumors of death are often greatly exaggerated.
Users called the channel's mistake a serious blunder. Later, CNN removed the video and issued an official apology to the actor and his family.
