On May 31, Clint Eastwood celebrated his 96th birthday. In recent years, rumors about a possible new project surrounding the director have not subsided; however, it seems that a period has indeed been placed on his career. The director's son, Kyle Eastwood, revealed that his father has truly retired.
"I have so many wonderful memories of working with him. He is now retired, and he is 96 years old. I was lucky to work with him on so many films. It was a wonderful experience," said Kyle Eastwood.
The director's latest film to date is the courtroom thriller "Juror Number Two," released in 2024. It was initially considered a likely finale to Eastwood's career. The Hollywood Reporter stated that the director "wanted to find one last project to ride off into the sunset with his head held high." Eastwood himself has not given any interviews on the matter. Instead of publicly expressing dissatisfaction with Warner Bros.' decision to send the film straight to streaming, the director chose to remain silent, preserving his dignity.
Over six decades in the profession, Eastwood has directed a number of acclaimed masterpieces: "Unforgiven," "Mystic River," "Gran Torino," "Million Dollar Baby," and many others.
Throughout his career, Clint Eastwood has repeatedly proven that he can surprise audiences and defy expectations. Therefore, despite his advanced age and discussions about the end of his career, fans continue to hope that the legendary director will still gift the world with a new film. After all, Eastwood's story is that of a man who never followed anyone else's scripts.
