Supermodel Paulina Porizkova, who recently turned 61, decided to delight her fans in a special way by showcasing her magnificent figure in a bikini. On her Instagram account, Paulina posted a heartfelt video where she appeared in just a swimsuit. Unashamed and with a touch of self-irony, the model showed herself from all angles, demonstrating the results of her hard work on her body.
The Path to Self-Acceptance
Porizkova shared her thoughts on self-acceptance: "I’m trying on this new bikini, and I remember what a long journey to self-acceptance I have gone through. I understand that this may sound crazy, but 40 years ago, when I was 21 and at the peak of my supermodel fame, I felt insecure due to endless comparisons with other girls. It seemed like I was never good enough. And here I am today, trying on this bikini and flexing the muscles I have worked so hard on, getting rid of cellulite, not so much to look my best in this bikini, but to look my best at 61," wrote Porizkova.
Active Fight Against Ageism
This is not the first time Porizkova boldly showcases her figure in lingerie and swimsuits. Over the past few years, the model has actively spoken out against ageism, sharing unretouched photos and inspiring women not to fear the natural changes that come with age. She is convinced: "Aging is a privilege."
In one of her video messages, Paulina sincerely shared that she posed in lace lingerie to show her body as it is, without embellishments. She emphasized: "Smoke and mirrors, folks. That’s how you can create a beautiful illusion for a moment. The truth is that gravity takes its toll. But it’s gravity that has made you stronger." In response to critical comments about how "an aging body" looks ridiculous, the supermodel counters that it is our imperfections that give us true uniqueness.
Life of a Supermodel: From Struggles to Love
Paulina Porizkova is rightly considered one of the most sought-after supermodels of the 1980s and made history as the first native of Eastern Europe to appear on the cover of the legendary Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Her childhood was full of trials: at the age of three, she remained in Czechoslovakia under the care of her grandmother while her parents escaped from Soviet troops. The family reunion took place only after seven long years.
For nearly 30 years, Porizkova was married to Rick Ocasek, the leader of the iconic band The Cars, with whom she had two sons. In 2018, their marriage ended in divorce, and just a year later, the model experienced a terrible shock when she found her ex-husband dead in their New York apartment. It later emerged that Ocasek had cut her and their children out of his will, stating that she had "abandoned" him. Despite all the hardships, in 2025, Paulina found new happiness, getting engaged to writer Jeff Greenstein, known for his work on popular series such as "Friends" and "Desperate Housewives."
