On Friday morning in the Ropaži municipality on the Riga bypass road, a tragic traffic accident occurred due to a truck tire blowout, resulting in the death of a female driver of a passenger car.
At 8:34, the police received information that a head-on collision occurred between a truck and a BMW passenger car on the "Baltezers-Saurieši" road at the turn to Zaki, confirmed the State Police to the LETA agency.
As a result of the accident, the female driver of the BMW died at the scene from her injuries, while the driver of the truck was handed over to medical personnel.
According to preliminary information from the police, the truck had a tire blowout, after which it veered into the oncoming lane and caused a collision with the BMW.
