Famous comedian Semyon Slepakov is under investigation due to systematic non-compliance with the requirements of foreign agent legislation.
The Prosecutor's Office of Moscow has initiated a criminal case against 46-year-old Semyon Slepakov on charges of evading obligations established by Russian legislation for foreign agents.
According to the agency's information, over the past year, the artist has already been held administratively liable twice for violating the procedure for conducting activities as a foreign agent. Despite this, Slepakov continued to publish content on social media without the required labeling mandated by Russian law.
Background on Foreign Agent Status
It is worth noting that Semyon Slepakov left Russia and moved to Israel in October 2022, condemning the special military operation and making a video address in which he called for an immediate cessation of hostilities on the territory of Ukraine. In April 2023, he was officially included in the list of foreign agents, after which the artist unsuccessfully attempted to challenge this status in court.
