15 years for the death of 'Friends' star: 'Queen of Ketamine' sentenced

The woman accused of supplying the lethal dose of ketamine to 'Friends' star Matthew Perry has received a harsh sentence, closing one chapter in the high-profile case of his death.

Jaswin Sangha, known as the 'Queen of Ketamine', has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. She is accused by investigators of supplying the lethal dose of the drug to Matthew Perry, the star of the cult series 'Friends'. This information is reported by the Daily Mail. Sangha fully admitted her guilt on five federal charges related to the actor's fatal overdose that occurred in 2023. She has been in custody since her arrest in August 2024.

Recall that on October 28, 2023, Matthew Perry was found lifeless in the jacuzzi of his mansion in Pacific Palisades. Arriving paramedics only confirmed his death. Subsequently, the Los Angeles County coroner's office determined that the cause of the actor's death was an accidental ketamine overdose.

Shortly before the tragedy, Sangha, along with her accomplice Eric Fleming, delivered 51 vials of ketamine to the actor. The deal was made through Perry's personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa. The prosecution claims that Iwamasa repeatedly administered the drug to Perry, making at least three injections on the fateful day when the actor died.

As soon as Sangha learned of Perry's death from news reports, she immediately contacted Fleming through a secure messaging app, instructing him to 'delete all their correspondence'. In August 2024, Iwamasa and Fleming pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute ketamine and distribution of a drug resulting in death. Their sentencing is expected soon; they face up to 15 and 25 years in prison, respectively.

The case is gaining new details

At the end of 2025, Perry's treating physician was also convicted in connection with his death, sentenced to two and a half years in prison for involvement in supplying illegal substances to the actor. During the investigation, a scandalous correspondence from Salvador Plasencia leaked to the press, in which he referred to Perry as an 'idiot' who could be exploited for profit. The investigation into Matthew Perry's death shed light on the secret world of Hollywood drug trafficking, revealing unexpected connections and even the involvement of a colleague and close friend of the actor.

Struggle with addiction and the legacy of 'Friends'

Matthew Perry struggled desperately with addiction for many years, and this battle continued during the filming of the legendary series 'Friends'. He openly admitted that his harmful habits often hindered his ability to work fully during those years. This project elevated him to the status of one of the brightest stars of his generation, placing him alongside actors such as Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer. After his death, his co-stars publicly expressed their grief on social media and later attended his funeral. Just recently, they once again honored his memory on the anniversary of his passing.
