Raimonds Pauls Patented His Name as a Trademark

An application for the registration of the trademark "Raimonds Pauls" has been submitted to the Patent Office. Currently, it has the status of an application, according to the data from the office's database.

As previously reported by the NRA portal, on March 20 of last year, the trademark "RAIMONDA PAULA DZIESMU SVĒTKI Manai Dzimtenei" was registered without the Maestro's knowledge. This year, under pressure from the media, lawyers, and the public, it was annulled.

The company SIA "Auss Media" of Janis Kirshs was given time to voluntarily rectify the infringement of Pauls' rights and remove the trademark. According to the register, it was indeed removed in February.

After the registration of the trademark "Raimonds Pauls" in the name of the Maestro himself, no one else will be able to unfairly use his name.

The publication "Jauns un Privāts" notes that after the registration, the name "Raimonds Pauls" will become a full-fledged brand that can be used in music, media, technology, and the production of various goods. This means that the name can refer not only to music recordings, digital content, educational events, concerts, and festivals, but also to souvenirs, as well as even food and beverages.

However, any use of this name will need to be agreed upon with the Maestro himself. The trademark registration will ensure a wider application of his name while significantly strengthening its legal protection.
