In the age of social media and clip thinking, plastic surgery has faced new challenges, said Professor Tigran Aleksanyan, the chief physician of the Art Plastic clinic. The specialist highlighted alarming trends for 2026 that may not only fail to improve but also harm the health and appearance of patients.
Among the most dangerous trends, the surgeon referred to fashion trends. He provided a simple analogy: clothing purchased 10-20 years ago can still be worn and even look stylish; the same should apply to the results of plastic surgeries.
"It is necessary to ensure that it looks natural, organic, and no one understands that some operation has been performed here. Only then will you always be in fashion and on trend. True aesthetics are timeless," the doctor explained.
One of the most concerning trends for 2026, according to the expert, is the demand for super-fast surgeries, driven by the 'clip thinking' of modern society.
"Patients think in templates and want surgeries to be completed quickly. For young, inexperienced surgeons, this sounds very promising, but in reality, it is not. Someone might say, 'I will do it for you in 25 minutes.' Do not fall for this hook. Quality, thoughtful, and safe work requires a certain amount of time," the professor warned.
To protect themselves, those considering plastic surgery should heed two key pieces of advice from the surgeon. The first priority is a natural result. The goal should be to improve one's appearance rather than conforming to a fleeting template trend from social media, the doctor noted. He emphasized that a result that looks natural will always be relevant. The second piece of advice is to research real reviews rather than advertisements.
"It is essential to carefully study reviews and ask people who have already undergone surgery with this doctor. This will provide a real result," the surgeon recommended and urged trusting not loud promises about speed but the proven reputation and experience of the specialist.
