The director called for the cancellation of grades in literature, arts, and theater history at theater universities.

Russian director Konstantin Bogomolov called the modern generation of actors 'plush'. This was reported by 'Abzac'.

Bogomolov criticized the current students of the School-Studio at the Moscow Art Theatre (MKhAT) named after A.P. Chekhov. He noted that the students at the university do not sing or dance, and also have 'terrible gestures and tense bodies'.

'They do not play musical instruments. <...> They do not speak French,' the director added.

As Bogomolov pointed out, a few years ago, French language classes were canceled at the MKhAT School-Studio. Because of this, modern students are unable to perform readings of A.P. Chekhov and F.M. Dostoevsky, who used a large number of phrases in French in their works.

The director also called for the cancellation of grades in literature, arts, and theater history at theater universities. In his opinion, such an innovation would help filter out students who do not read books from the university curriculum.

Bogomolov noted that currently, graduates of theater institutes are people who are 'at best talented'. At the same time, they poorly master their specialized education, the director emphasized.

On January 23, the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Olga Lyubimova, appointed Konstantin Bogomolov as the acting rector of the MKhAT School-Studio. Graduates of the university criticized this decision, as the director is not a 'native MKhAT member'. As a result, the position was taken by actor Konstantin Khabensky.
