Copenhagen, Berlin, and Barcelona topped the list.
The capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, took first place in a new ranking of cities for family vacations; the top five also included Berlin, Barcelona, Florence, and Amsterdam.
Traveling with small children does not always give parents a sense of truly relaxing leisure. Lines at the airport, a mountain of necessary items, and occasional tantrums — even a short trip of one or two days can significantly increase stress levels.
With the Easter holiday and summer vacations approaching, many parents will be looking for the perfect place for a family trip with children.
The index takes into account factors that are most important for family travel: average flight time from British airports, travel time from the airport to the city, walkability, accessibility, the number of children's entertainment options, and the availability of family accommodations.
According to the LateRooms index, the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, is recognized as the "easiest and most pleasant" option for a family city trip due to short flights from the UK, ease of transportation, a wide range of accommodations, and numerous experiences that families can enjoy.

The flight from the UK takes an average of less than two hours, and the metro ride from the airport to the city center takes about 15 minutes, making the journey to Copenhagen "quick and quite manageable even with tired toddlers."
Upon arrival in the city, it is easy to explore: Copenhagen scored 99 out of 100 for walkability. This means that many attractions "can be easily walked to without wasting time on long trips or complicated transfers."
According to the index, the numerous playgrounds and waterfronts of Copenhagen make it "one of the most family-friendly destinations in Europe," and the city itself is "full of family entertainment."
Among the main attractions are Tivoli Gardens, "which inspired the creators of Disneyland," and the colorful Nyhavn harbor, which "looks like an illustration from a book and is perfect for a leisurely daytime stroll."
Berlin, which took second place, stands out for family entertainment and is considered "one of the best destinations in Europe where children won’t be bored." The German capital has over 200 leisure options suitable for families, so there will definitely be plenty to do on weekends.

Families can visit the Berlin Zoo, explore interactive museums like the German Museum of Technology (Deutsches Technikmuseum), or relax in the "spacious" Tiergarten park.
In third place in the index is Barcelona, recognized as the best destination for a combination of beach and city vacations, offering "one of the best combinations of excursions and open spaces for families."
