Central Asia is becoming an increasingly popular destination among tourists. In recent years, travelers have been flocking to Kyrgyzstan — to the mountains and to Issyk-Kul. Issyk-Kul is a true pride of the republic. Everyone who visits is awed by the sight of the water surface surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of the Tien Shan.
Issyk-Kul, translated from Kyrgyz, means "hot lake." The body of water does not freeze even in winter. The water is so clear that in summer visibility reaches 20 meters, and in winter it is as much as 47 meters. Despite its unique transparency, the lake holds many secrets. According to scientists, submerged ancient cities lie at the bottom, preserving the mysteries of forgotten civilizations. The most famous of these is the medieval Sikul, the remnants of which can be seen along the shores of the village of Toru-Ayghyr.

The beach season at Issyk-Kul is quite short. It lasts from mid-June to mid-September. However, at the beginning of the season, only the brave swim in it. In June, the water warms up to +18°C, and the air to +20..+24°C. But it can feel significantly hotter in the sun.
The peak swimming season is July and August. The water temperature reaches a comfortable +22..+24°C, and the air warms up to +25..+30°C. During this time, the resorts of Cholpon-Ata and Bosteri see the maximum number of vacationers. In September, there are 2-3 times fewer tourists than in August. The water at the beginning of autumn still retains the warmth of August (+22..+24°C).
