I Will Reveal a Great Secret: There Are Three Paths for Russia. All of Them Lead to Disintegration - Analyst

"I see no logical grounds for Russia to theoretically remain an independent entity. Thank you, Gorbachev, Yeltsin... And Putin too," writes American scholar and analyst of the global situation Sergey Lopatnikov.

Professor Sergey Lopatnikov writes: “There seem to be three paths for Russia:

  • to become the European Far East,
  • to become the American Far West,
  • to become the Chinese Far North.

And all of this is through DISINTEGRATION.

I see no logical grounds for Russia to theoretically remain an independent entity. If it were on an island - like Japan or Indonesia - perhaps. But in such a significantly more developed and massive environment... Why would it? - It seems to me that the opportunities to create such grounds have been missed. Thank you, Gorbachev, Yeltsin... And Putin too.

The critical problem for Russia is that it cannot offer anything worthwhile to the world. Except for resources, which are interesting even without it. It’s like another planet; why not explore it if possible, whether it is habitable or not? - What difference does it make?

What does Russia really offer the world? - Anti-Americanism, anti-Europeanism, anti-pederasty, and Orthodoxy? - And all this comes with a serious whiff of “anti-Turkism,” which I believe even reaches China. What comes from Russia, besides “Oreshnik,” “Poseidon,” and pseudo-hypersonic technology?

My friends! - I will reveal a great secret: people all over the world want:

  • to earn,
  • to have fun,
  • to enjoy themselves,
  • to relax,
  • to derive pleasure!

They gravitate towards those who provide this for them. And does Russia offer anyone anything from this list?

Just American operating systems and computers have created millions and millions of jobs around the world, just as machines once created billions of jobs.

Here’s a simple, seemingly trivial thing - restaurants. Restaurants are millions and millions of jobs and the opportunity for millions to earn. So, there are McDonald's, Chinese restaurants, Mexican restaurants, Greek restaurants all over the world... And it’s not just that these are jobs. Through the kitchen, through the pizzeria on the corner, these countries ensure the acceptance of their cultures.

And where are the Russian restaurants? - Has Russia offered the world even one universal dish, like pizza, burger, or burrito? - No. Black caviar? - Uh-huh. Thank you. At the price of four months' rent for the average American.

Entertainment? - Maybe the whole world watches Russian films and plays Russian computer games? - Perhaps Russia has created a new style of popular music?

Russian art is exceedingly provincial. Who in the world, besides propagandists, is interested in the sufferings of the “Soviet intelligentsia”? - How many people will remain in a global cinema hall - fine for watching Mikhalkov's nonsense, - even Chekhov's “The Seagull”? - Who in the world cares about the tragedy of a social structure that is completely specific to Russia? Who cares about “The Cherry Orchard”? - This is not “Avatar” or “Star Wars.”

But everyone hears about weapons. And it cannot be said that this creates pleasant feelings towards Russia. Can a “good person,” who has nothing to boast about except his perfect cudgel, believe that he will be loved for it, respected, and his high moral qualities appreciated?

What else does Russia offer? - Orthodoxy, which has kept Russia in a dark, wild state for centuries? - Even imported communism was ruined. In fact, they didn’t even let it be realized. China was lucky that behind the USSR and Russia, it had 40 peaceful years for the Soviet NEP. And in Russia today, it is not NEP at all.

And this is the objective state of affairs, which cannot be disputed. In general, on the mental map of the world, Russia is not present at all. Except for this very ghost with a big cudgel.”

Sergey Lopatnikov is the head of the American laboratory of mathematical modeling methods at the University of Delaware (USA), and a former leading researcher at Moscow State University (MSU). He has been living in the USA since the early 2000s.
