Anesthesiologist David Callejo urged people with insomnia to sleep in socks. He recommended this unusual method of combating the problem in a conversation with the publication 20minutos.
According to Callejo, to sleep soundly, it is necessary to lower the body temperature. "When we put on socks, we cover our feet. By covering our feet, we cause the blood vessels to expand. The blood vessels in our feet swell, allowing us to dissipate heat more quickly and lower our internal temperature," he explained.
At the same time, the specialist emphasized that it is important to choose the right socks for sleeping. It is advisable not to buy overly tight products made from synthetic fabrics, as they cause excessive sweating. Instead, it is better to prefer natural fibers and a loose fit, the doctor added.
