Next week will be quite eventful in terms of establishing international relations.
On Monday, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko will arrive in Riga for a two-day visit. The official purpose of the visit has not been announced, but there has been much discussion lately about the need to adopt the combat experience of Ukrainian soldiers, particularly in the fight against drones.
In the middle of the week, Speaker of the Albanian Parliament Nico Aleks Pelesh is expected to visit. In October of last year, the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, was honored in Albania – it is time to reciprocate.
Closer to the end of the week, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands will arrive in Latvia. Recently, it was announced that the Netherlands, together with Germany, is opening a Baltic headquarters for a cadre corps of 40,000 to 60,000 troops to protect Latvia and Estonia. A worthy reason for the queen's visit.
We are also expecting an influential banker – President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso. She will lead the annual meeting of the EBRD Board of Governors, as well as a business forum that will gather more than 2,000 representatives from the public and private sectors.
