After influenza, ARVI, and angina, you should immediately replace your toothbrush.

Dentist Ekaterina Tsybina explained when to change your toothbrush immediately instead of waiting three months.

The doctor stated that the toothbrush should be replaced immediately if it has fallen on a contaminated surface, if it has been used by another person, or if it is heavily worn. Additionally, she urged to throw away the toothbrush if it has been constantly stored in a damp closed case.

According to her, the toothbrush should also be changed after having had ARVI, influenza, angina, or coronavirus. The dentist explained that during illness, viruses and bacteria get onto the bristles along with saliva and soft plaque and can remain on its surface for several days.

"In cases of severe illness and recurrent angina or influenza, replacing the toothbrush with a new one after the onset of treatment or recovery becomes a simple additional measure to support therapy," noted the doctor.
