Actress Rose McGowan shared painful memories of working on the cult series 'Charmed', claiming psychological pressure, strict control, and threats from the project's producers.
According to McGowan, the atmosphere on set was far from safe. In the podcast We Need to Talk, the actress revealed that she was constantly monitored and her appearance, particularly her weight, was controlled. She claims that such checks were humiliating and created a feeling that she was perceived not as a person, but as a 'product'.
Moreover, the actress stated that the show's management allegedly did not allow her to leave the project voluntarily. According to her, the producers threatened legal action and financial penalties in case she refused to shoot or attempted to participate in other projects. McGowan claims that she was instilled with fear for her future and even for her family's well-being.
As of now, there have been no official comments from the creators of 'Charmed' regarding these accusations. At the same time, some users on social media reacted skeptically to the actress's statements, pointing out that other cast members of the series, particularly Holly Marie Combs, changed their appearance over the seasons, which, in their opinion, may indicate a lack of total control.
Rose McGowan joined the series in 2001, replacing Shannen Doherty, and remained in the project until its conclusion. The actress has previously spoken out against the industry and discussed toxic working conditions in Hollywood.
