Nutritionist: salmon improves immune system function.
Nutritionist Sara Vives stated that the most important food for health in winter is salmon. She explained the benefits of this fish in cold weather in an interview with Max.
Firstly, salmon contains a lot of omega-3 fatty acids, which improve the immune system's function and reduce inflammation in the body, Vives explained. Secondly, this fish is rich in vitamin B12, a deficiency of which can provoke fatigue and a feeling of low energy, she added.
Additionally, salmon is a source of vitamin D, the specialist stated. In cold weather, due to the lack of sunlight, the body's ability to synthesize it naturally decreases, so nutrition should be a priority. Another beneficial property of this product, Vives noted, is that it helps better control appetite, as it contains a lot of complete protein.
