Director Nikita Mikhalkov did not reveal the identity of his friend who doused Russian President Vladimir Putin with red wine.
Mikhalkov told journalist Pavel Zarubin that he would not betray this person. "Look, if the president didn’t tell you who it is, can you imagine how I would look in front of that person if I betray him?" the director questioned.
This incident occurred at one of Mikhalkov's anniversaries, which Putin attended. During the event, one of the guests accidentally spilled wine on him. According to Putin, this person apologized profusely and said he would stop drinking alcohol altogether. However, the Russian president jokingly emphasized that he did not keep that promise. Moreover, Putin himself is known for not keeping his promises.
