Gastroenterologist Sergey Vyalov stated that lovers of hot drinks have an increased risk of developing cancer. He published a warning about this dangerous disease on his Telegram channel.
Vyalov explained that hot drinks cause cell death in the oral cavity and esophagus. As a result, he said, burns to the mucous membrane can occur, leading to inflammatory processes. This increases the risk of developing cancer with frequent consumption of hot drinks, he explained.
"It is especially important to avoid consuming boiling water, which instantly damages the delicate tissues of the esophagus," the doctor wrote. In conclusion, Vyalov added that drinks are considered hot if their temperature exceeds 65 degrees Celsius.
