One apple a day reduces the risk of heart disease.
If you include just one apple a day in your diet, a number of positive changes will occur in the body, said nutritionist Valeria Goulart. She discussed this in an interview with the publication Metropoles.
According to Goulart, people who consume one apple a day have a lower risk of developing diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, as the fiber contained in them helps normalize cholesterol levels in the blood.
"Apples can relieve stomach pain and help combat gastritis, as they act like a gel. This fruit increases the production of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and, therefore, reduces the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease," the doctor added. Additionally, she stated that apples lower the risk of developing several types of digestive system cancers, slow down aging, and improve oral health.
