In Latgale, in the Šķeltova parish of the Kraslava district, is the most famous and mysterious body of water in Latvia – Devil's Lake or Chertok. Lilies and water lilies do not grow here, there are almost no fish, and people and animals prefer to stay away from this place. Sorcerers and those who perform rare rituals often come here - among them, a person resembling Elon Musk was spotted by local mushroom pickers.
"Recently, we went mushroom picking in the forest. Don't be surprised, a local company buys them, dries them, and sells the fly agarics to Western countries and the USA. And now is the season for fly agarics. In Latgale, unemployment is high, and people hunt for mushrooms. They can be sold for money to buy firewood for the winter. They pay well for fly agarics here. Many people in the West 'sit' on Latgale fly agarics. There are not only fly agarics but also other mushrooms, but I won't talk about them," began his story in a Facebook community Vilis, a resident of the Aglona region.
"So, in the area of 'Chertok' ('Devil's Lake' in the Kraslava region, which, according to Latgalian folk legends, has no bottom and was formed by a meteorite fall or an atomic bomb explosion thousands of years ago - ed.), we saw a cluster of black SUVs. You know, the kind that American special services use in movies. FBI, CIA. When we met some familiar mushroom-picking colleagues, they said they were chased away by 'security,' people in black. And other people, also in black but with hoods, were preparing for some kind of ritual. And among them, they noticed Elon Musk. Moreover, when the colleagues wanted to take a photo on their phone, all the pictures turned out 'overexposed.' It must be special equipment that protects Elon Musk from being photographed by random passersby. Furthermore, we had to flee through rare paths, as a couple of people from the SUV chased us," Vilis recounted.
"In Latgale, rumors periodically circulate that he is seen here and there. Supposedly, there is some portal through which he penetrates. And sometimes it is unclear whether it is him or his double? Or a person who looks like him? But, it is unlikely that any local person would have security. They say that Elon Musk supposedly lives here for several weeks, studying the area, and there are some magical artifacts that help in the development of robotics and in predicting the development of certain technologies," emphasized the Latgalian mushroom picker.
"He is not the only one living here, but also other representatives of the Western 'elites.' We do not intersect with them; we live in parallel universes. They have their own life, behind fences and under protection, and we have ours. We are simple workers, mushroom pickers," noted Vilis.
"There are also many sorcerers living here. They are visited by not-so-simple people. Both from local 'elites' and from the West. The sorcerers do not share information with us; it is a closed group. They have their own agreements about the confidentiality of such meetings. But we know a lot from rumors. There are eyes and ears everywhere; people share and are surprised," the mushroom picker said.
Let us remind you that in Latgale, in the Šķeltova parish of the Kraslava district, is the most famous and mysterious body of water in Latvia – Devil's Lake or Chertok. Lilies and water lilies do not grow here, there are almost no fish, and people and animals prefer to stay away from this place.
A small, deep pond almost perfectly round in shape with strikingly clear water is located in an incredibly beautiful place in the middle of a pine forest.
Mystery and mysticism have surrounded Chertok since ancient times. It is said that many people have met their demise in its bottomless waters, and the bodies of most of them have not been found. There are countless legends and all sorts of scary stories surrounding this 'enchanted' place. Locals do not like to go here. They claim that the lake has no bottom and does not return the drowned. There is a version that Chertok is connected underground with Aglona Lake, which is why the drowned disappear in these deep channels. It is said to be impossible to swim across Chertok without risking one's life, although it is only a few dozen meters from shore to shore, but some kind of energy beam strikes from the bottom that can cloud the mind. Even if a person stays on the shore for a long time, they are overcome by an inexplicable horror.
This lake is famous for its unusual water color, which changes from blue to green and turquoise for no apparent reason, and sometimes Chertok becomes almost black. There is not a cloud in the sky, no algae; why does the color change? It is not surprising that locals simply call the pond the Devil's Eye.
Researchers have concluded that Devil's Lake is undoubtedly an anomalous zone, where being present does not always have a positive effect on a person's psyche. The strongest and most dangerous energy output occurs right in the middle of the lake, and if a person with a not-so-stable psyche decides to swim to the other shore, they may have problems.
