Netflix has given the green light to continue the animated series 'Stranger Things: Tales from 85.' The decision to renew was made swiftly: the streaming service's management officially approved the second season just five days after the premiere.

The project is set in the time between the second and third seasons of the main series. Winter has arrived in Hawkins, and while Eleven, Mike, Dustin, and the other kids are playing in the snow and spending time on 'Dungeons and Dragons,' a new evil is awakening beneath the ice.

The animated series has received a rather lukewarm reception. On the aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the critics' rating stands at 63%, while the audience score is even lower at 54%. However, Netflix's metrics were more significant: in the first week, the show garnered 13.8 million hours of viewing and made it into the top 10 English-language shows on the platform.

The animated series was created with the involvement of the 'Stranger Things' creators, the Duffer Brothers, who served as executive producers. The showrunner of the project is Eric Robles ('Glitch Techs'). Notably, the voices of familiar characters sound different — the original cast did not return to their roles and were replaced by professional voice actors.
