In the night from Saturday to Sunday, around 1:45 AM, a police patrol spotted a bear in Tallinn near Astangu Street. Together with rescuers, they immediately began searching the area, and a drone was also launched, but the animal could not be found. It is presumed that the bear may be moving around the vicinity of Astangu and Tähteoruni streets or in the Harku swamp area. The police are asking residents to be cautious when moving in these areas.

“A wild animal can behave unpredictably, especially in an unfamiliar urban environment. If possible, we recommend avoiding walks in this area. If you encounter a bear, keep your distance, avoid eye contact, and retreat slowly without making noise,” said field supervisor of the Lääne-Harju police department, Gert Trumm.

The police request that sightings of the bear be reported to the Emergency Center at 112.
