What could this mean?
“There are cases when animals choose to lie on those parts of their owners' bodies where pain or discomfort is felt. However, even if a person has an illness, the pet is not capable of curing it,” explains emergency veterinarian Vyacheslav RUSYAEV. “Cats' attachment to lying on people is explained by their love for warmth, as the temperature of the human body creates comfortable conditions for them. If a person has a fever, it becomes a perfect 'heating pad' for cats, as the owner remains still and warmer than usual.
Nevertheless, in some situations, the presence of a pet can indeed contribute to improving a person's condition during illness. For example, during a headache or stress, the monotonous purring of a cat can have a calming effect on a person.”
