There is an opinion that fish is one of the distant ancestors of humans...
This claim was made by Australian paleontologists from Flinders University. They found fossils of a fish that existed 380 million years ago in the Finke River. One of the characteristic features of this creature is the presence of four limbs (or their equivalents).
Additionally, the fish, besides having gills, had openings in the upper part of its skull that facilitated breathing on the water's surface.
The researchers believe that this fish belongs to an ancient line of tetrapodomorphs — some of these species became the ancestors of four-legged terrestrial animals, from which humans later evolved, as indicated in the study, the results of which were published in The Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology.
