In the village of Ust-Ordynsky in the Irkutsk region, a domestic cat Innokentiy became a hero by saving his pensioner owner from a fire, but perished in the flames.
According to rescue services, the cause of the fire was a short circuit in the electrical wiring on the veranda of a private house. At the time of the incident, the 83-year-old owner was asleep.
The woman reported that her cat Innokentiy woke her up with loud meowing. The pensioner got up and followed her pet, who, according to her, was insistently demanding something.
After that, she opened the front door, saw flames on the veranda, and ran out of the house. The owner was sure that the cat had also managed to leave the dwelling, as Innokentiy usually followed her everywhere.
When the firefighters extinguished the fire, they found the deceased animal under the debris of the house.
