This is not true.
The kangaroo's pouch does not have muscles that could throw its contents out, and the animal's front legs are too short for this task. To get the baby out of the pouch, a kangaroo must lean down, which is quite difficult to do in dangerous situations.
Kangaroos are known to move by jumping, which involves significant accelerations. As a result, during a prolonged chase, an unwary and heavy baby may accidentally fall out of the pouch.
It is likely that such cases have formed the basis for widespread mythology.
