How many eyes does a bee have?

Five.

A bee has three simple eyes located in the center of its head and two compound eyes on the sides. Each compound eye contains between 4000 and 6000 ommatidia — structures that have lenses at the top and photoreceptor cells at the bottom. A simple eye consists of just one ommatidium.
