People with «animal» names and surnames will be able to visit the Riga Zoo for free

On the weekend of October 11 and 12, the Riga National Zoo will celebrate its 113th anniversary with traditional 'Animal Days', the zoo informed the LETA agency.

During the 'Animal Days', special attention is given to those whose first name or surname contains the name of any living creature.

For these visitors, the entrance to the zoo will be half price. If the name of the animal appears in both the first name and the surname, then this weekend, entrance to the zoo and its branch 'Cīruļi' will be free. If the name of the animal is written in a foreign language, a dictionary or another reliable source must be presented at the zoo's ticket office for confirmation.

In recent years, the most frequent guests of the zoo have been 'pigeons' in various languages, but they have faced strong competition from 'bears', 'swans', 'deer', 'roosters', 'hares', and 'lynxes'.
