The main beneficial component of this salad is herring, which is a source of fish oil and omega-3 fatty acids, as well as vitamins D and B group. At the same time, the greatest harm comes from the salt in the herring and mayonnaise. To make this dish healthier, it is recommended to reduce the amount of both ingredients. It is enough to use only the top layer of mayonnaise. The herring can be soaked beforehand before adding it to the salad or use lightly salted fish.
Recipe
For preparation, you will need:
2 beets,
2 carrots,
3-4 potatoes,
3 eggs,
250 g herring,
half an onion,
mayonnaise.
Boil and peel the vegetables and eggs.
Peel the onion.
Cut all the ingredients into small cubes.
Prepare and cut the herring.
Layer the potatoes, onion, herring, carrots, eggs, and beets. Each layer should be covered with mayonnaise, and the top layer should also have mayonnaise.
Place the salad in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.
After steeping, it can be served at the table.
