In a conversation with El Espanol, nutritionist Edwin Fernandez Cruz shared a simple rule when buying products.
First of all, the expert recommends paying attention to the sugar content in the composition.
According to the expert, the maximum allowable norm is no more than 10%. "When we see that there are ten percent of sugar in one hundred grams of a product, that is ten grams, we should think about it," said Cruz.
The doctor explained that although the body can process sugar, many store-bought products contain it in excessive amounts. This is especially dangerous if a person's diet lacks fiber. In this case, sugar is absorbed much faster, which creates an additional burden on the body.
