The Nutritionist Named a Healthy Substitute for Red Caviar

Red caviar has an exquisite taste, but its health benefits are often exaggerated, noted nutritionist M. Ginzburg. There is a cheaper and, importantly, more beneficial alternative, the expert reported.

According to him, regular chicken eggs and omega-3 intake will bring much more benefit to the body than the acclaimed delicacy. Another option is eggs and 2–3 servings of mackerel in 7 days.

Red caviar spoils quickly, the doctor continued, which is why it is often frozen, then thawed, and attempted to be passed off as fresh. The specialist emphasized that such actions do not positively affect the taste of the delicacy. Quality red caviar is a rather rare phenomenon, the expert concluded.

The doctor also noted that one should not expect the same benefits from the caviar of freshwater fish, as they do not contain omega-3 and vitamin D.
