In the USA, on the slopes of Denali mountain in the Alaskan range, a rescue operation continues to evacuate the bodies of three deceased Latvian climbers in order to bring them down and conduct necessary examinations at the forensic center, confirms the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As soon as the operation to lower the bodies is completed, the ministry will receive the relevant information.

According to Denali National Park policy, the deceased in the mountains are never left at the site. The evacuation of the bodies may take a considerable amount of time, as the timeline depends on both the location of the incident and the weather conditions.

Injured Martiņš Bilzens is still under medical supervision at the hospital in Alaska's largest city, Anchorage.

The other expedition members — Valdis Purinš, Edgars Madžulis, and Guntis Svarinš — have safely descended from the mountain and also arrived in Anchorage.
