Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys stated that his data was also stolen from the Register Center, and he sees this as an interest from hostile entities.

“Yes, and the data of family members as well. The data that is in the register,” the minister told reporters on Saturday, responding to a question about whether his data had been stolen.

The Prosecutor General's Office is currently investigating possible illegal connections and the theft of more than 600,000 records from the real estate register, including personal codes of individuals.

According to Budrys, it is concerning that someone could access a large volume of data and use it for actions directed against the state.

“According to the assessment of the services, this data was intercepted and is in the possession of hostile entities,” he stated.

President Gitanas Nausėda, who was also affected by the data leak, said earlier this week that this could be considered “the activity of hostile states.”

Among those affected were also the Commander of the Army Raimundas Vaikšnoras, some ministers, members of the Seimas, businessmen, and, as reported by the Director of the State Security Department Remigijus Šimašius, some intelligence officers.

According to law enforcement, unauthorized connections were made from abroad after the accounts of Migration Department employees were hacked. As Interior Minister Vladislav Kondratovich stated on Friday, the data leak was discovered after one citizen began to inquire why the agency was interested in his property.

Preliminary data indicates that the data theft occurred earlier this year, and the fact of the leak was discovered in early April, reports lrt.lt.
