The Riga East Clinical University Hospital (RAKUS) is investigating the death of an employee at the workplace.
State police officers are working at the scene to determine the circumstances of the incident. Citing the General Data Protection Regulation and the right of the involved parties, as well as their family members, to privacy, the hospital is not providing additional information about what happened.
The State Labor Inspectorate has also received information about the accident and has begun an investigation. The inspectorate notes that it is still too early to talk about possible violations that could have led to the accident: during the investigation, all circumstances must be clarified, and only after that can the inspectorate draw conclusions.
Meanwhile, as Latvian Television has learned, the RAKUS employee was caught in the doors in the radiology department, where, presumably, the safety systems did not work.
